Dear Friends and Readers …
I’m excited to announce the release of my new novel, The Spiderling. A spiderling is a hatchling spider, but the book is not about arachnids, I promise. It’s the story of Kiwi and Libby Seager, a young girl and her mother who are indirect casualties of the war in Iraq. After the soldier father is killed, each tries to cope with the loss in her own way, straining the bond between them.
The publisher is Roadrunner Press, a small publisher that produces high quality books. You’ll find more about my work by clicking the “Books” tab above. You can order an autographed copy of The Spiderling from Best of Books bookstore in Edmond, OK (www.bestofbooksok.com).

The Spiderling
Libby’s soldier husband rescued her from a hopeless life. When he is killed in Iraq, Libby falls back into her old patterns, changing men and locations. Eleven-year-old Kiwi has already lost her father, now she’s terrified of losing her mom, as well.
Out of self-preservation, Kiwi commits an act of violence that shatters their fragile bond and sends them on the run. But Kiwi is the stronger one. Even though she believes her mother can no longer love her, she struggles to practice what her father taught her: Do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
